General Submission Rules 

• Originality: All entries must be painted by the person submitting them.
• Exclusivity: Models cannot have previously won a prize or award in another competition.
• Registration: A valid event badge is required.
• Limits: Limited to one entry per category, though multiple categories can be entered.
• Size Constraints: Miniature figures must be 28mm or up to 32mm.
• Condition: Models must be fully assembled and painted. 

Categories (amature & professional)

• Single Figure: A single, standard-sized miniature (28mm-32mm).
• Large Figure/Monster: A single, larger figure, bust, building or vehicle.
• Squad/Unit: A group of 3-10 themed miniatures.
• Junior: A category for painters under 16 years old. 

Logistics and Safety

• Responsibility: While event staff take care, they are not responsible for damage or loss; securing models with putty or magnets is advised.
• Photography: Submitting an entry grants the Oxfordcon permission to photograph and display the work.
• Return: Models must be picked up in person by the close of the show. If any models are left after the close of the con, staff will try to contact the owner. The model will be considered abandoned at the close of the con.

Judging Criteria (open format)

• Workmanship: Judges look for clean, high-quality preparation, such as the removal of mold lines, filled gaps, and smooth priming.
• Painting Skill: Evaluation of brushwork, blending, highlighting, shading, and color choice.
• Creativity: Originality in base design, freehand painting, or kitbashing.
• Technical Precision: Proper, realistic painting techniques (e.g.,Non-Metallic Metal, Object Source Lighting) rather than just popular trends, which must be executed perfectly.
